The Movie

Reading the story and seeing the story is without any doubt not the same, to admit I found the story to be much more interesting in the book. The director of the movie Arthur Hiller did not effectively interpret the emotions of the story. The happenings in the movie are not described, like in the book, everything is more unexpected and we do not really get out from the movie why some things are taking action. Oliver and Jenny are switching roles in the movie I guess, Jenny used to represent the funny type in the book and Oliver the more serious one, and in the movie vice-versa. The entire movie takes place in winter which I found to be an interesting use of such a metaphor because we know that coldness represents death and sadness. I read that the movie was very successful in 1970 and won the Oscar from seven Academy Award nominations therefore it must have been very impressive for that time.
